MIX’IN – Winners of the Korea Expo 2026 K‑Pop Dance Contest

Founded in August 2025 by Eden, MIX’IN is a multidisciplinary dance crew blending diverse styles and influences into each of their choreographies. At the K‑Pop dance contest held on June 20, 2026 during Korea Expo, members Lina, Honorine, Julie, Marine and Eden delivered a powerful performance that earned them the first prize.

As an Honorary Reporter for Korea.net, interviewing them felt natural: K‑Pop plays a major role in contemporary Korean culture, and highlighting the dancers who bring it to life is part of my mission.

Interview by Jason Edwards · June 20, 2026 · Paris

1. How did you experience the moment on stage?

“We were very happy to participate in this year’s Korea Expo. Performing on stage allowed us to showcase our work, especially since it was only the second time we prepared a competition with our new members. The event brought us closer together and helped us build strong team cohesion.”

2. What motivated you to take part in the contest?

“It was a great opportunity to promote our group, our passion, and our choreography to a large audience. We knew the level would be high, and it was — but we were motivated and gave everything to win.”

3. How did your preparation go?

“We started training only two weeks before the final. Even with such a short time, we managed to prepare a performance we are proud of. The stress on the day of the event actually pushed us to give our best.”

4. What defines MIX’IN’s identity?

“Our name says it all: ‘MIX’ for the fusion of our styles — hip‑hop, waacking, ballet, tutting — and ‘IN’ for integrating them into each performance.”

5. What was the most challenging part of your performance?

“Choosing the music. It took us a long time to agree on a theme, find the right songs, and respect the imposed restrictions. We always want our mix to have real meaning.”

6. What does K‑Pop represent for you as a group?

“K‑Pop is a vector of connection. It’s thanks to K‑Pop that the crew was born. Today, we create our own choreographies for performances and competitions.”

7. How did you feel the audience’s energy?

“From the very beginning of our performance, we felt the audience’s surprise and enthusiasm. It gave us even more confidence to dance proudly and enjoy the moment.”

8. What are your plans after this victory?

“We want to continue performing on stage and participating in competitions. Winning first place will also allow us to create new video projects.”

9. A message for your fans?

“A huge thank you to everyone who voted for us and supported us. Thanks to you, we won this prize. We hope to go even further and inspire others.”
