FlashDance Luxembourg hosts a K-Pop workshop dedicated to the universe of Demon Hunters. To celebrate the first anniversary of the K-Pop movie Demon Hunters, several countries launched special workshops inspired by its universe. Luxembourg is part of this international movement, and it was natural for me to attend in order to experience it firsthand and meet the participants—both children and adults—who came to discover the “Demon Hunters” choreography.
The workshop took place at FlashDance by Romain Philipp, a school that has been making dance accessible to everyone for nearly thirty years. With more than 100 weekly classes, over 15 dance styles, inclusive programs, and a passionate teaching team, FlashDance is above all a family where everyone progresses at their own pace.
On July 26, in the warm atmosphere of the dance studio, I interviewed Romain Philipp, founder and artistic director of FlashDance, to understand how this K-Pop workshop fits into their vision and why the universe of Demon Hunters resonated so deeply in Luxembourg.
1. Introduction of the School & Philosophy
Q: To start, could you introduce yourself as well as the FlashDance school?
Romain Philipp: My name is Romain Philipp, director and founder of FlashDance by Romain Philipp. For nearly thirty years, our mission has been to make dance accessible to everyone, regardless of age, level, or personal goals.
Today, FlashDance offers over a hundred weekly classes in our Bertrange and Steinsel academies, covering more than fifteen dance styles: classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, breakdance, tap dance, and of course K-Pop.
Our philosophy goes far beyond technical learning. We want to provide an environment where everyone can build confidence, creativity, personal expression, and the joy of dancing. FlashDance welcomes children from the age of 3, teenagers, adults, and seniors. We also offer classes adapted for people with special needs, because inclusion is an integral part of our values.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by a passionate and dedicated team of teachers. FlashDance is much more than a dance school: it is a true family where everyone finds their place and progresses at their own pace.

2. Genesis of the "Demon Hunters" Workshop
Q: How did the idea of organizing a K-Pop workshop around the "Demon Hunters" concept come about?
Romain Philipp: K-Pop evolves very quickly and we want to offer our students projects connected to current trends. The Demon Hunters concept is particularly inspiring: it combines dance, music, cinema, acting, and a strong visual identity. It allows participants to portray a character while developing their technical skills.
We wanted to offer an immersive experience that goes beyond a regular class and allows dancers to fully live the artistic universe of this choreography.
Romain Philipp: K-Pop evolves very quickly and we want to offer our students projects connected to current trends. The Demon Hunters concept is particularly inspiring: it combines dance, music, cinema, acting, and a strong visual identity. 3. Intergenerational Pedagogical Adaptation
Q: This workshop is aimed at both children and adults. How did you adapt the content?
Romain Philipp: The artistic principle remains the same, but the teaching approach differs.
For children, we prioritize progressive learning, play, imagination, and the joy of discovering the choreography in a fun atmosphere.
With teenagers and adults, we focus more on movement precision, interpretation, energy, musicality, and stage presence.
In both cases, everyone progresses at their own pace, in a supportive environment where the joy of dancing remains the priority.

Q: What would you like to pass on to the participants through this workshop?
Romain Philipp: Of course, we want to teach them quality choreography. But beyond that, we want to convey self-confidence, the joy of taking on an artistic challenge, teamwork, and the desire to express one's personality through dance.
Dance is a universal language that brings together people of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds. We want to share human values: respect, mutual aid, perseverance, self-confidence, and the pleasure of sharing a common passion.
When participants step through the door of FlashDance, we want them to feel like they are joining a family, no matter their age or level.

Q: Could you tell us about the "Demon Hunters" choreography? What makes it unique?

Q: What impact do you notice in children and adults when they discover K-Pop?
Romain Philipp: We often notice a rapid growth in their self-confidence. Students gain coordination, precision, choreographic memory, and stage presence.
But the most beautiful change is human: they dare to express themselves more, enjoy working in groups, and build a real team spirit.
For me, the success of a workshop is not measured by the number of participants, but by the smiles at the end of class, the friendships formed, and the renewed confidence. That is the FlashDance spirit.

Q: Are you planning to organize other K-Pop workshops or collaborations centered around Korean culture?
Romain Philipp: Absolutely. We want to continue developing our K-Pop program and regularly offer new workshops focused on current groups, choreographies, and trends.
We would also be delighted to strengthen ties with Korean cultural institutions in Luxembourg, notably through collaborations with the Korean Embassy, cultural events, demonstrations, or educational projects.
K-Pop is a true cultural bridge. It allows young people to discover Korea through dance, discipline, creativity, and collective work. We hope this workshop is only the beginning of a beautiful adventure.
