The KPOPWORLD Festival, originally planned for October 28–31 at the Alamodome, will not take place this year. After weeks of back-and-forth between immigration specialists, production teams, and artist management, the organizers reached a conclusion none of them wanted but all of them understood: the festival must be postponed to 2027.

The issue wasn’t the preparation, nor the artists, nor the agencies. It was the uncertainty surrounding U.S. visa approvals for several international performers. Even with expedited procedures and every possible service activated, the timelines remained unpredictable. And when you’re building a festival meant to celebrate K-pop on a global stage, unpredictability becomes a real threat.

Rather than presenting a half-empty lineup or disappointing thousands of fans who had already booked flights, hotels, and time off, the organizers chose transparency and responsibility. They acknowledged that delivering a reduced version of the event would go against the very spirit of what KPOPWORLD promised.

Ticketmaster will refund all purchased tickets within 14 business days, directly to the original payment method. It’s a logistical setback, but one the team felt was necessary to protect both the artists and the audience.

In their message, the organizers apologized sincerely, recognizing how much planning goes into attending a major festival. But they also expressed gratitude — for the enthusiasm, the support, and the excitement fans have shown since the announcement of the event. The postponement isn’t a cancellation; it’s a reset. A way to ensure that when KPOPWORLD finally opens its doors, it does so with the full lineup, the full production, and the full energy that fans deserve.

2027 may seem far away, but the intention is clear: the festival will return stronger, complete, and without compromise.
