In K-pop, many artists rely on immediate visual impact. Yeo One follows a different trajectory. Since PENTAGON’s debut in 2016, he has moved forward without unnecessary noise, preferring consistency to excess. A choice that has allowed him, over a decade of career, to settle into a singular space, appreciated for his stability and his direct approach to the stage.
PENTAGON knows the mechanics of the South Korean industry inside out. Yet, amidst the meticulously timed choreographies and dense productions, Yeo One’s voice provides an immediate counterpoint. It’s not about power, but timbre, precision, and the way he inhabits words. His solo projects and television appearances have confirmed this line: a constant attention to text, meaning, and nuance.
The real turning point arrived with the Prism world tour. Performing in front of packed venues on the other side of the world, where the audience sings the Korean lyrics without hesitation, transformed his way of working. The stage was no longer a simple spectacle to rehearse night after night. The tour redefined his relationship with the public: the goal was no longer to deliver a flawless performance, but to create a real, unfiltered exchange.
This evolution is reflected today in his artistic choices. Solo or in a group, Yeo One explores themes more anchored in his reality as a thirty-something: doubts, passing time, the pressure of the profession. Without dramatization. With the simple and sincere desire to translate what his generation experiences.
1. Since your debut, at what moment did you feel you grew the most as an artist?
Yeo One: PENTAGON’s world tour, Prism, was the experience that made me grow the most. Meeting UNIVERSE all over the world, beyond Korea, and directly feeling the love fans hold for our music... those moments deeply marked me. No matter the city, singing and dancing all together gave me immense inspiration and allowed me to take a new step forward as an artist.
2. Among your activities with PENTAGON, which event or experience most influenced your musical direction?
Yeo One: Here again, the Prism world tour was a true turning point. Before the tour, I mostly focused on music "to show and play." After the tour, my vision transformed toward music "to share and experience together." Every city was precious, and I still carry within me the image of fans singing even before the concert started and enjoying every moment with incredible energy.
3. What is the most important element for you when working on a song?
Yeo One: The message. I think a song can truly connect the artist and the audience when it carries a clear and sincere message.
4. Is there a concept or genre you would like to explore in the future?
Yeo One: I would like to try a much more energetic genre, featuring a very dynamic band sound. I dream of creating a burning stage where I can breathe and vibrate with the public in a very intense live atmosphere.
5. What message do you want to convey to UNIVERSE through your music?
Yeo One: "You, me, our youth, hope, and love." I would like my music to bring a little hope and love into your life.

Yeo One: Hello, this is Yeo One. Throughout the rest of 2026, I would like to meet you as a solo artist, but also as a member of PENTAGON, to share precious moments with you. 7. What personal objective do you want to achieve in the second half of the year?
Yeo One: To meet more often the fans who have been waiting for me for a long time. I would like to breathe with you on stage through various performances.
8. Is there an artist or producer you would like to collaborate with?
Yeo One: I love the Japanese band SPYAIR. Their songs, which talk about challenge, youth, and growth, have brought me a lot of comfort and courage as a listener. I would like to become an artist who transmits a similar energy, and if the opportunity arises, I truly want to collaborate with them or share a stage together.
