When five voices decide to return stronger than ever. MCND is one of those groups that cannot really be summarized in a few words. They debuted young, with that raw energy that immediately set them apart in an industry where everything moves fast, where everything changes, where nothing is ever guaranteed. And yet, despite challenges, breaks, doubts, and long waits, they are still here — stronger, more mature, and above all, more determined than ever.

This comeback, Devil Youth Club, is not just a return after two years: it is a declaration. A way for the five members to say that they never stopped moving forward, even in silence. Castle J, BIC, Minjae, Huijun, and Win return with a renewed identity, a deeper musicality, and a sincerity that shines through in every word, every gesture, every note. They don't try to be someone else: they want to be themselves, fully, intensely, without filter.

What strikes you about MCND is this ability to transform their differences into collective strength. Five personalities, five colors, five trajectories which, once reunited, create a unique signature: an explosive yet controlled energy, a fiery yet thoughtful youth, a passion that never goes out. Their evolution is palpable — in their stage presence, in the way they tell their stories, in their willingness to push their limits.

The interview that follows was conducted on August 30, 2026, at a pivotal moment in their journey, as the group prepares to return to the stage and the public with this new mini-album. Facing the questions, the members open up with touching frankness, talking about their doubts, their hopes, their relationship with fans, and their vision of the future. We discover artists who do not just perform, but reflect on what they want to say, on what they want to leave behind.

And then there are the fans. Those who have followed them from the beginning, those who discovered them along the way, those who are still waiting for them today. Their support, whether it comes from Seoul, Paris, São Paulo, or Berlin, has become the driving force of the group. MCND knows it, feels it, and carries it as a precious responsibility. With Devil Youth Club, they are not just looking to impress. They want to reconnect, surprise, move, and remind why MCND is a group that matters — and why their story has only just begun.

1. Your new mini-album marks an important moment in your artistic journey. What message or concept did you want to express through this comeback?
Castle J: For this comeback, I wanted to add a touch of maturity to our 'mischievous rascals' image and have fun with GEM.
BIC: Since we are returning after two years, I want people to say, 'Ah... this is the MCND I knew,' and show them everything we have.
Minjae: Devil Youth Club is an album that captures the MCND of this return after two years. The message is that of a group that continues to challenge, move forward, and progress.
Huijun: As the title of the album indicates, we wanted to show a more mature version of MCND's musical color.
Win: With a vibe that is both 'emo kid' and intense, we want to express a raw adolescence-style youth, while showing on stage an MCND that has already become adult.
2. How would you describe MCND's musical evolution since your debut? What feels different today?
Castle J: We have gained a lot of stage experience, so the biggest difference is our comfort on stage. Before, we focused only on what was asked; now we can truly own the stage with confidence.
BIC: I think we have all become more experienced.
Minjae: Since our debut, our love for music has deepened, and everyone is developing their production skills. Our individual charms blend well into the music, allowing us to offer a style appreciated by the public and fans.
Huijun: At our debut, we mainly showed a mischievous and energetic image. This comeback highlights more of each member's individual charms.
Win: Our way of adding conviction to our overflowing energy has improved even more.
3. MCND is known for powerful performances. What was the biggest challenge in preparing the choreography and staging?
Castle J: Over time, I feel my body becoming stiffer... even turning my head becomes difficult! But I will dance until I break if I have to.
BIC: It wasn't difficult in itself, since we are used to it, but our stamina has clearly decreased.
Minjae: I thought a lot about camera angles and how we would appear. And since it had been a long time, I worked out so as not to appear physically weakened.
Huijun: Since this is our first full comeback in a long time, regaining our synchronization was the hardest part.
Win: Finding the right 'point dance' was a real headache.
4. A memorable moment during the recording or production of the mini-album?
Castle J: Minjae and I recorded the guide vocals for Devil Youth Club, and searching for the lyrics that fit best was very fun work.
BIC: Recording went by very fast, but since it had been a long time, I had to readapt myself.
Minjae: Resuming choreographies and training all together stood out to me. It was exciting and fun to practice for an album after so long.
Huijun: There were many genres we had never tried, so each recording session was a new experience.
Win: I modified the lyrics of Hot Stuff a lot. Finding the style I wanted was very pleasant.
5. Each member brings a unique color. How do you combine your strengths to create MCND's signature style?
Castle J: We have five very different charms, but we work so that this diversity becomes a cohesive unit. For example, everyone dances with a distinct style, but together, it must feel intentional and harmonious.
BIC: Our personalities are very strong, so we worked hard to find a middle ground.
Minjae: Assigning the right parts to everyone is essential to highlight our individualities. Then, we add our artistic sense and skills.
Huijun: With each preparation, we learn the choreography and exchange ideas to create a scene that suits us.
Win: The most important thing is not to forget what we want to do. Stay true to yourself!
6. Your international fanbase is growing. How do you feel about this worldwide support? Does it influence your music or performances?
Castle J: The support of GEM worldwide motivates us. When I step on stage, I always want to live up to their expectations.
BIC: Thanks to international fans, MCND was able to keep moving forward.
Minjae: It's a huge privilege to be loved even from afar. Our fans look like us: full of energy and passionate.
Huijun: Even if our comeback was delayed, fans kept listening to our old tracks, which gave us the strength to prepare this return.
Win: I am simply grateful. Because they love our naturalness, we can express ourselves without pressure.
7. An international experience or fan interaction that particularly marked you?
Castle J: Our first European tour. Debuting during Covid made us used to the virtual, so meeting fans in person for the first time in Europe was electrifying.
BIC: The tour in Brazil. The flight was exhausting, but the fans compensated with incredible passion.
Minjae: The first European tour, because it was our first stage abroad. We were nervous, but fans welcomed us with incredible energy.
Huijun: Every stage in every country remains engraved in my memory.
Win: All the stages left a strong excitement in me, especially in countries where the reaction was particularly good.
8. As artists who debuted young, how have you grown personally and professionally?
Castle J: Our skills and music quality have grown, but I still think we must keep improving, without ever stopping.
BIC: I sometimes feel like I'm standing still, but I keep moving forward step by step and surpassing myself.
Minjae: I went through difficulties and moments of doubt, but today I am happy to have chosen this path. I feel more solid and centered.
Huijun: The stage. With time, my vision has broadened and I can better express MCND and myself.
Win: Growing with fans, members, the agency, and music has shaped me. Thanks to them, I have become stronger and will continue to evolve.
9. What do you want listeners to feel when discovering this new album?
Castle J: I love when people say we are 'cool'. If people find the song and the MV cool, I will be happy.
BIC: I would like people to be touched. Cry! We are returning after two years!
Minjae: I want to remind fans why they love this group and show that MCND continues to move forward.
Huijun: I want people to feel that we are good on stage, and that all five members shine.
Win: Just understand what you feel. There is neither good nor bad interpretation.
10. The K-pop industry is evolving fast. How does MCND stay creative and innovative?
Castle J: I always ask myself the 'why'. Why does this group do this style? Why doesn't another? These questions feed my creativity.
BIC: We incorporate a lot of our reality and draw immense inspiration from it.
Minjae: Individual work plays a huge role. By working alone, you discover new ideas and progress.
Huijun: You can't always do a concept different from others, so we look for how to make it 'in our own way'.
Win: We focus on what feels like us. Rather than riding the biggest wave, we create our own movement in a small lake.
11. If you had to describe this comeback in one word?
Castle J: 'Ardor'. I want to show an incredible stage as if it were the last.
BIC: 'Last dance'. With the mindset that this could be the last.
Minjae: 'Crazy'. I want to remind that we are those artists who go wild on stage.
Huijun: 'Back'. I want to express my gratitude and apologies to the GEM who waited for us for more than two years.
Win: 'Forgiveness'. Forgive ease through effort, ask forgiveness from those who waited for us, and turn all this into performances.
12. What message do you want to give to Korea.net readers and fans who have supported you from the beginning?
Castle J: Always thank you. Thanks to GEM, we have strength and happiness. We will become even more impressive artists you can be proud of. I love you.
BIC: Thank you for your constant support. We will do our best to live up to it.
Minjae: Thank you to Korea.net readers and fans supporting us since our debut. We can continue making music because of you. Keep following us, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Huijun: Dear Korea.net readers, MCND returns as a full group after two years. It was long, wasn't it? We will reward you with impressive activities. Thank you and I love you.
Win: Forget yesterday, enjoy today, and wait for tomorrow! I love you.
