At barely twelve years old, Kang Juwon has a rare kind of curiosity—a sincerity that strikes you from the very first minute. With him, nothing is calculated, nothing is forced. He discovers the world the exact same way he approaches music: with wide-open eyes, raw honesty, and a simple desire to try things out. What sets him apart? Not outsized ambition, but simply that natural ability to say "why not?" when faced with any new experience.

When you chat with him, you quickly realize one thing. Juwon is not a child pushed forcefully into a world that doesn't belong to him. Above all, he remains a boy from Jeju, with his everyday routine, classes, friends, and a passion for cameras that he takes apart piece by piece to figure out how they work. We are miles away from the child-star cliché. No postures. No rehearsed answers. He recounts what he experiences in simple words, and it is precisely this disconcerting naturalness that captures attention.

1. To start, could you briefly introduce yourself to the readers?
Kang Juwon: Hello, my name is Kang Juwon and I am 12 years old. I live in Jeju. I am still a student, and I like learning and trying out many things, like music, new gadgets, or cameras.
2. How did you start making music, and when did you feel the desire to sing?
Kang Juwon: To be honest, I never dreamed of becoming a singer, and I didn't make music before. I was just an ordinary student. My first musical experience happened when my cousin, who is a composer, suggested I participate a bit in one of her tracks.

Then she told me she had written a song thinking of me. When I listened to it, I really liked it. I didn't decide to "dive into music" seriously; I simply thought it would be a new experience and agreed to participate.
3. Which artists or styles inspire you the most?
Kang Juwon: I haven't been listening to music for very long yet, so I can't name a specific artist who changed my life. In general, I am inspired by songs that give me a fresh feeling upon first listening, regardless of the genre.
4. Can you tell us about your recent concerts or projects?
Kang Juwon: The first song I participated in was INFINITive, composed by my cousin Sohyun Moon Esion. The track talks about the infinite possibilities everyone carries within themselves. I participated very modestly, but this experience later allowed me to perform concerts in Jeju, Hawaii, and Seoul.

More recently, I recorded Juwon’s Song, a song written for me, and shot the music video. At first, it was just a fun project to create a memory with my cousin. But many more people than expected watched the video, which surprised and slightly impressed me.
5. What does your daily life look like as a young artist?
Kang Juwon: I don't think I lead an "artist's life." I go to school, see my friends... a very normal life. I simply enjoy testing new gadgets, cameras, and filming equipment. I like learning through hands-on handling.

6. What is the most memorable moment or the one you are most proud of?
Kang Juwon: Recording my song from start to finish and shooting my own music video. It was the first time I did a real project like that, so it was a bit difficult at first.

But I'm the type of person who tries first without overthinking. I did the same this time, and I'm proud to have lived a new experience. I feel like I grow a little bit every time I try something new.
7. What are your goals or dreams for the future?
Kang Juwon: I don't have a precise dream yet, like becoming a musician or choosing a specific profession. I simply want to keep trying new things when the opportunity arises without being afraid. By accumulating experiences, I think I will discover what I truly love, and my path will naturally take shape.
8. A message for the readers and those who support you?
Kang Juwon: At first, I never thought my song or music video would become well-known. I just wanted to create a fun memory with my cousin.

When the video became popular, I was really surprised and happy. It was the first time people I don't know listened to my song and cheered me on.

I also saw a lot of mocking or mean comments. At first, it hurt me, especially coming from kids my age. I didn't understand why they were saying those things.

But over time, I learned that I don't need to take every word too seriously, and I also discovered that there are tons of people supporting me. This experience wasn't entirely positive, but I think it made me stronger.
