1. What is the main mission of Korean Heritage Night, and what does Angels Baseball aim to highlight through this cultural celebration?
David Neumann: “Our Heritage Nights are designed to bring the community together around Angels Baseball. The feedback we receive shows that people deeply appreciate seeing their community recognized and valued. We want to continue showing that Angel Stadium is a place where Orange County can gather, celebrate, and feel fully part of the community.”
2. How did the idea of organizing a night dedicated to Korean culture first emerge within the Angels organization?
David Neumann: “We have been developing our Heritage Night program for several years. Since Southern California is home to a vibrant and highly engaged Korean community, and baseball continues to grow in popularity in Korea, creating a Korean Heritage Night was a natural step for us.”
3. Southern California has a large Korean-American community. How important is this community to Angels Baseball?
David Neumann: “The Korean community is extremely important to Angels Baseball. Baseball already holds a major place in Korean culture thanks to the KBO. We have seen the impact when players like Shin-Soo Choo, Chan Ho Park, or Hyun-Jin Ryu join MLB and Korean fans rally around them. It is therefore natural for us to make sure this enthusiastic community feels welcome at Angel Stadium through events like Korean Heritage Night.”
4. What cultural elements or activities are planned this year to showcase Korean heritage to attendees?
David Neumann: “We have planned a lot! Guests must purchase their tickets through Angels.com/Korea to access all the festivities:
- Pregame performances by Andrew Choi (the singing voice of Jinu in KPop Demon Hunters) and the group fiveALIVE.
- Korean food trucks offering authentic flavors.

5. Why do you believe a Major League Baseball game is an effective platform for celebrating Korean culture?
David Neumann: “Culture is, above all, about community, and nothing brings people together quite like professional sports. People from all backgrounds gather in the stadium, united around a team or an event. Angels Baseball holds a unique place in Orange County to highlight different communities, and we are delighted to do so for the Korean community. The fact that baseball is very popular in Korea is an added advantage.”
6. What motivates an American baseball organization to invest in cultural events such as Korean Heritage Night?
David Neumann: “Our motivation is to share the excitement and joy of Angels Baseball with everyone. This mission has led us to organize a wide variety of events for very diverse audiences. This year alone, we have hosted seven Heritage Nights, five College Nights, five Appreciation Nights (firefighters, law enforcement, etc.), Pride Night, Anime Night, Star Wars Weekend, Catholic Families Night, STEAM Days, youth sports days, and many more.”
7. Are there any special collaborations or highlights planned for this edition that you would like to emphasize?
David Neumann: “We have planned numerous activities: musical performances, Korean food trucks, a special Korean Heritage jersey, traditional dances, a taekwondo demonstration, the presence of Korean nonprofit organizations, and a financial contribution to the Korean community of Orange County through ticket sales.”
8. Andrew Choi will participate in the event. Why was he the ideal choice for this year’s Korean Heritage Night?
David Neumann: “We were looking for an artist capable of elevating the event. With the rising popularity of KPop Demon Hunters and the success of Andrew Choi’s songs, he naturally emerged as the perfect choice. Born in South Korea, he brings genuine cultural authenticity to his work.”
